What is Tracked During a Session?

When the application loads on a website it creates a unique machine_guid. This GUID (Globally Unique Identifier or Universally Unique Identifier) follows the user to determine their unique customer journey and how frequently the user visits a website or page.

This GUID is reset if the user clears their local storage.

The application also sends the GUID, Urchin Tracking Module (UTM) parameters, Uniform Resource Locator (URL), website referrer, Internet Protocol address (IP address), and user agent information to the application's API which creates a new session. The session GUID becomes stored in the user's browser.

Widget Events
After a session has been established, a variety of events related to the widget on a per-application basis are recorded:
LOADED: An event is recorded for each application loaded.
OPENED: An event is recorded when the user clicks on the widget to maximize/interact with a specific application.
LEAD_CREATED: An event is recorded when the user completes the lead process.

All widget events are linked to a widget session. By linking the widget event to the session, UTM information, such as the UTM source, can be displayed in the Journey Visualizer.
